Laura Winkler, LPC, CTTCC
Welcome to my VFC profile page! It is my honor to be part of the VFC practice and my privilege to support individuals with their personal and professional development. I am driven to help people find meaningful careers and their life purpose. I encourage clients to see every small step forward as significant as it can help them build momentum and make strides toward greater life and career satisfaction.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Certified Tough Transitions Career Coach, an Academy Certified Resume Writer, and a qualified user of the Strong Interest Inventory, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, and Clifton Strengths assessments. I have over 20 years of career counseling experience and have held career counselor-related positions at George Mason University, The Women’s Center, Northern Virginia Community College, the Federal government, and employment agency settings.
I work collaboratively with clients, utilizing Solution-Focused Brief therapy and Cognitive-Behavioral therapy, and elements of mindfulness in our sessions. My expertise is in counseling clients with both career and mental health concerns. I am EMDR trained and specialize in supporting clients through tough transitions, including career change/re-entry, unemployment, divorce, and workplace challenges, such as performance and relationship issues. Some of my additional specialties include career coaching job seekers with disabilities, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD as well as active military, veterans, and military spouses.
I would be happy to answer any questions that you have about my background, counseling approach, and how I can best support you.
