Liz Stratton, LCSW

Welcome to my profile with Virginia Family Counseling (VFC). It has been my great pleasure to join the VFC team of experienced, talented therapists. As a clinical social worker myself since 1995, I have been in full time practice helping adults heal through various behavioral and emotional difficulties.
If you struggle with anxiety, depression, difficult feelings, images or memories of painful events, are preoccupied or disturbed to distraction, can't break out of dysfunctional behaviors, or have difficulty making decisions, and these symptoms are stopping you from enjoying life or achieving goals, then therapy can help. Examining longstanding problems in a therapy relationship can heal unresolved problems, strengthen confidence, and increase esteem. As you become free from problems, naturally, you will take action on manifesting your dreams. Using CBT, Motivational Interviewing, DBT, and/or EMDR Therapy you and I will develop a therapy plan together. I will assist you in a nonjudgmental, compassionate, and guiding manner as you work through tough issues, and affirm, strengthen, and celebrate your growth. Strengthening the good stuff is as important as resolving the tough stuff. Seeking help through therapy is a courageous decision. Self examination often takes asking for help, is an uncomfortable risk, and can be a surprising relief. I consider it a privilege to assist you, a joy to witness your empowerment, and I look forward to working with you soon.
